In 2017, a French forensic pathologist examined fragments of a jawbone found outside the bunker and declared that it did in fact match Hitler's dental records. Even though he was

only 56 in 1945, Hitler only had five of his own teeth left - the rest were dentures.

In 2009, an archaeologist at UConn announced that "Hitler's skull" (a skull being held in the Soviet/Russian archives, long-said to be Hitler's) was not actually Hitler's. In fact, he claimed that according to his findings, the skull most likely belonged to a woman who was between the ages of 20 and 40. Other scientists have challenged these findings but we still do not have a definitive answer.

In 1948, Tempo Magazine released a report claiming that it was not actually Hitler who had died but rather a body double who had been cremated and incinerated (to prevent anyone from testing his remains).

From 1951 to 1972, the National Police Gazette (a U.S. tabloid) ran a series asserting Hitler's survival. The tagline for the National Police Gazette is: "Covering crime, sports, celebrities, and all things sensational since 1845." For two decades, reporters claimed that Hitler had escaped to either Antarctica or South America.
