Mrs. Wright asked each member of the class to write the story of his or her life. Angelo didn’t know what to write at first, but Mrs. Wright gave him some suggestions. “Try answering questions like this,” Mrs. Wright said. “Where were you born? Who are your parents? Do you have brothers and sisters? Who is your best friend?” “Great, I get the idea,” said Angelo. Angelo was born in San Diego. His parents were Hector and Liza, and he had two sisters and three cousins. But Angelo had a hard time deciding on his best friend. Darren Oliver? Darren had moved last year, so he didn’t see him as much anymore. Eric? Angelo loved his cousin Eric, but Eric was going to a new school now and had new friends. “Angelo, do you mind if I put you as my best friend?” Clark asked from across the room. Clark was friendly, loud, and happy. He was the best kickball player in the school. “Sure, but only if I can put you as my best friend, too,” laughed Angelo.
