The orchid she really liked, a Barkeria orchid, did not require soil and was a beautiful purple color that would match her bedroom. Alicia’s parents ordered the orchid and planted it in a glass bowl with a little gravel for support. Alicia poured some water into the bowl and placed it near her bedroom window. The orchids thrived in Alicia’s bedroom. She knew she had made the right decision.
