Dear all,

I wanted to warn you about a scam which is doing the 13 ...................... in the States.

This concerns a 'phishing' email purporting to be from the electricity supplier Selectric, which claims that a recent automatic payment has failed, and then urges the recipient to click on a link to access their "client space" and make yet another payment.

The email carries the Selectric logo and, other than the wording of the warning about the supposed payment failure, is a word-for-word copy of a standard monthly 14 ...................... advice. However, if you look carefully, you will see that the email address from which the email is sent is not identical to the usual one. This is what aroused our suspicions in the first place.

After 15 ...................... our bank account and finding that the monthly payment had left our account as normal, we thought it would be helpful to put you on your guard.
