Kay knew that her grandmother's birthday was coming up. Kay decided to make her a scrapbook as a gift. She wanted to show Nana all the things they did together.
The scrapbook had to be special, just like Nana. She had been an important part of Kay's life because when Kay was just a month old, Nana started taking care of her. When Kay's parents went to work, they drove Kay to Nana's house. It felt like a second home to her. There were three main parts in the scrapbook. The first part had pictures.
There were lots of pictures, and Kay loved the ones that showed both of them at the park. The sandbox was their best spot.
The next part was about the projects they made together. Once they made a birdfeeder, and another time Nana taught Kay how to sew clothes. Then there was the time they made a garden. They planted tomatoes, carrots, and radishes. Nana and Kay still work on the garden.
The last section was about their long trips together. Kay put in some of their postcards and photos. There was one trip that was very special. Nana and the whole family went to Ireland to see the little town where Nana had been born. Kay hoped Nana would like the scrapbook as much as Kay liked making it.
