When heat is conducted, it is transferred from one object to another until equilibrium is reached.

Unlike other forms of heat transfer, conduction does not require a temperature difference between objects.

If one object has a large amount of thermal energy and the other has less, the one with more will transfer heat.

Heat can be conducted through fluids such as liquids and gases, but it cannot be conducted through solids.

All matter conducts heat equally well because all matter contains atoms that are constantly in motion.
