Hello everybody!
Happy Friday! I hope you're having a great day.
A few of you have been in touch with some questions about payments for work completed on Cloud 2 and thank you to those who contacted us!
We've looked into it, and it seems that some work that was completed in training has been recorded twice. We've amended this now and fixed it in the software and will be sending new remittances to you momentarily. Please check these over and if you have any queries, email your boss, copying this email address in.
Just to note, this hasn't affected everybody, so if your remittance looks exactly the same as before, there's no need to do anything.
Thanks for your patience and cooperation while we get C2 into a great place!

Subject: Standardised Quiz
Sent: Feb 20 23:30:02

Dear everyone,
After talking to Heidi and Brian today, we have decided to allow students access to their text (on advertising) while they take their quiz, and under certain conditions:
  • They must use the "short version" of the text (attached).
  • They cannot use their own printed version.
  • They may take 15 minutes to do the quiz.
They will not know this until the day of the quiz, so please do not tell them or write to them beforehand. Not that we want to impose any surprises, but that, should they know in advance that they will be able to use their texts, many of them will not study. I have asked the assistants to make sure that both documents are printed in time for the quiz:
  • Monday, February 26 for groups A & B
  • Tuesday, February 27 for groups C & D
  • Monday, March 5 for groups E, F & G
I will post the answers to the quiz once everyone has taken the test.
Best,
Paul

Hello, everyone!
URGENT HELP NEEDED!!!
I was hoping someone could send me the links for all the paperwork needed for the class trip to the Collins Wildlife Reserve. I only have access to the school intranet through my son's log-in & the info IS NOT under information on the 28th January, when Mrs. Jones posted it.
I have filled out the permission slip, but I need the list of everything else needed like the proof of insurance and the other forms.
It seems there was a mix up with 'Gabrielle' and 'Gabriel', and my son has been missing from all lists. So, at the meeting last night, I discovered the sad truth, that we have been given absolutely no paperwork.
I need to get these papers to Mrs. Jones tomorrow if Gabriel is to go on the trip with them.
And while I'm at it, can anyone tell us how to get new codes for us 2 parents to access the intranet?
Thank you for any help,
Laura (Gabriel's mum)

Review of Highline Restaurant and Bar

The Good: pretty decent food and a great artsy atmosphere.
The Awful: HORRIBLE customer service. We were a party of five and I wish the gratuity wasn't already added because she did not deserve a penny for that attitude of hers. Every request or question was met with rudeness and condescension. We asked if we could order appetizers first, while we looked over the menu. She told us no, that our order had to be put in all together, but she "guesses she can ask the kitchen to make an exception." I asked for my burger to be medium well and she said "no, the most we can do is medium, but the burgers are supposed to be ordered medium rare." The last straw was when we received our bill and saw a $20 cake cutting fee. We asked her before being seated, if they were able to take our cake. She said that there would be a fee and we told her to forget about it and that we would just take our cake back. She insisted the fee was "only an additional $4." Oh just $4! That's fine! NOPE, $4 per person, which she completely failed to mention. We would have gladly paid the $4 per person fee, but when we mentioned to her that she was not very clear, she condescendingly replied back "No, I definitely mentioned it to you guys, I remember", missing the point that she did not clarify that it was PER PERSON.
Never have I been told "no" so many times by anyone in the service industry. Definitely will not be returning if these are the customer service standards for Highline. It's too bad because the restaurant itself is worth a visit!

RE: Cease and desist from harassment

Dear Mr. Esselin:
This CEASE AND DESIST ORDER is to inform you that your persistent actions including but not limited to bullying me in emails, on social media and calling me at all hours of the day and night have become unbearable. You are ORDERED TO STOP such activities immediately as they are being done in violation of the law.
I have the right to remain free from these activities as they constitute harassment and I will pursue any legal remedies available to me against you if these activities continue. These remedies include but are not limited to: contacting law enforcement to obtain criminal sanctions against you and suing you civilly for damages I have incurred as a result of your actions.
Again, you must IMMEDIATELY STOP harassing me and send me written confirmation that you will stop such activities. You risk incurring some very severe legal consequences if you fail to comply with this demand.
This letter acts as your final warning to discontinue this unwanted conduct before I pursue legal actions against you. At this time, I am not contacting the authorities or filing civil suit against you, as I hope we can resolve this matter without authoritative involvement. I am not under any circumstances, however, waiving any legal rights I have presently, or future legal remedies against you by sending you this letter. This order acts as ONE FINAL CHANCE for you to cease your illegal activities before I exercise my rights.
To ensure compliance with this letter, and to halt any legal action I may take against you, I require you to fill in and sign the attached form and mail it back to me within 10 days of your receipt of this letter. Failure to do so will act as evidence of your infringement upon my legal rights, and I will immediately seek legal avenues to remedy the situation.
Sincerely,
Eleonore Smith

WARDEN BAY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
HEAD LICE-Notice to Parents: OCTOBER 10
Currently there is an epidemic of head lice in area schools. Please examine your child's hair and scalp for evidence of live lice, lice eggs or nits (egg casings left behind after lice have hatched). If lice or eggs are present, they will be found close to the scalp. If you find head lice, please notify your child's school, daycare or others with whom your child may have had direct head to head contact. Children with head lice should be treated as soon as possible to minimize the spread to other individuals.
School policy excludes students from school with live lice.
CAUSATIVE AGENT: lice are wingless crawling insects. Color varies from translucent to black. Their eggs/nits are laid on the hair shaft anywhere on the head. They are not carriers of any disease. There is no relationship between personal hygiene or cleanliness of the home and lice.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS: redness and/or itching of the head, live lice, lice eggs, or nits found close to the scalp.
INCUBATION PERIOD: lice hatch in 8-10 days. Without human blood, a louse will die within 24 hours.
METHOD OF TRANSMISSION: the most important action to control head lice is to discourage head-to-head contact with an infested individual until the live lice are removed. If one person in the household has head lice, everyone in that household should be checked for lice. Those with live lice, lice eggs or nits within 1 cm of the scalp should be treated.

October 16 10:30
We regret to inform you that your child TIMOTHY REEVES has been removed from class because he is suffering from head lice. To avoid risking other students to exposure he will not be allowed to attend school until he is declared lice free from a certified pediatrician. We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your comprehension.

Mr. Ford,
Thank you for your letting us know about your sudden change in plans. As of January 15, our cancellation policy demands that guests cancel their reservation 48-hours prior to arrival in order to avoid a fee. We do this in order to better serve guests seeking last-minute accommodations. But as a token of sympathy for you and your family I have cancelled your reservations and we are refunding the deposit. My thoughts are with you and your family and hope for a rapid recovery.
Best wishes,

Flawless Beauty
The power and driving dynamics of Criterion by Diamond Motors come wrapped in an eye-catching design that boasts authentic comfort and style. And because it was built for our modern active lives, you can be sure to have an interior space for the kids, the dog, the sports equipment, camping gear and just about everything else you may need on the road to adventure.

Reformed Exterior
The new 20-- Criterion has been purposefully designed to give it a fresh new look. The first thing you'll notice is the incredible new grille and distinct front and rear LED signature lighting. Step inside, and you'll discover a dignified interior with rich new colors. So, whether your adventures take you on- or off-road, Criterion has a presence that exudes style.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Department of Transportation has announced a formal inquiry into Diamond Motors latest model, the Criterion after hundreds of motorists have complained of the airbag accidentally deploying while driving. Safety experts believe this is due to a glitch in the Supplemental Restraint System which controls the airbag system. Diamond Motors claimed in a statement issued yesterday that the incidents are isolated and coincidental.

Diamond Motor Company
Dear Sir or Madam,
Diamond Motors, following consumer and government demand, is ordering a recall of certain 20-- Criterion models to correct a condition with the airbag system that may allow the airbag to accidentally deploy. Per our own investigation, we don't believe that our other models were affected by this error. The affected U.S. and Canadian vehicle population totals 67,146.
This expanded vehicle population raises the number of reported incidents involving frontal crashes, in which the recall condition may have caused or contributed to the faulty deployment of the frontal airbags, to 231 involving 209 front-seat injuries of various degrees.
As part of the recall, Diamond Motors is taking steps to address customer concerns and working with its suppliers to increase parts production and accelerate availability.

Police Arrest Couple in Regional Theft Ring
City Herald

April 9, 20--

Thanks to the help of area merchants, Harding Police were able to arrest a couple who operated a theft ring that stole credit and bank card numbers of many unsuspecting Harding residents.
Trudy Pence, 33, a nurse, and her husband Olav, 37, a manager of an area pizzeria, were caught with the numbers of hundreds of bank cards and had spent well over a million dollars on goods and services with other people's money.
Trudy Pence allegedly used the bank cards of ill patients at Harding General Hospital while her husband allegedly copied his customers' numbers down and made fake cards with them.

To whom this may concern
I checked my balance online this morning and discovered three purchases that I don't recognise on my statement.
One was for a subscription to friendlymeet.com for $79.99, another was a purchase at the Office Barn on Arden Blvd. for $312.89, and the last was for a very large pizza order at Heavenly Pizzas for $209.55.
I can assure you that I have not made any of these purchases as I was in the hospital last week. This is also very alarming as these purchases have overdrawn my account and it will be another two weeks until I get paid.
Sincerely,

Where did Diane Blaise most likely get her card compromised?
While in the hospital.
When buying a pizza.
When buying something online.
When shopping for office supplies.
In the context of the text, what does "overdrawn" mean?
Too artistic
Too much money in her account
To make an event longer than it has to be
To have insufficient funds
What did the bank NOT do?
Give her a new card.
Refund her purchases.
Apologise for what happened.
Ask Ms. Blaise to testify in court.
What does it mean "to waive any fees"?
To ask for a delay in payment.
To insist payment at the nearest possibility.
To forget about them.
To postpone the payment of the fees.
Why is the incident so alarming for Diane Blaise?
She is still ill.
She has no money left in her account.
She earns a lot of money and doesn't want to pay the new taxes.
She is shocked because of the cost of the hospital bill.

Hollywood-Famed director Alejandro Leon has signed on as director of the film Quiet Temptation taking over for director Linus McNamara who had a nervous breakdown during pre-production and is still being treated at a Beverly Hills psychiatric hospital. Leon wants no changes in the cast and hopes to begin filming as soon as possible. The movie is based on a series of graphic novels of the same name that was geared towards adults but the movie plans to capture a wider audience...

Houses Needed for Filming!

Four Star Productions is searching for a few colonial style homes on Waltham Street to film a few scenes either inside or out. Our location scouts are satisfied with all of the houses on the street, but we will of course need your consent to film on your property. We are offering a generous compensation package of $5,000 per day of filming and estimate 2-3 days of filming. However, you will not have access to your home during the filming, but we are prepared to put your household up in the Prestige Hotel Warden Bay for the duration.

Thank you so much for your offer to film at your beautiful home. The photos you attached really showed the beauty of your home and we think we could use your backyard and living room for three separate scenes that will require three days of filming.

Ashleigh
