I should adjust the moto speed with the power turned off.

The longer side of the work piece/board should be kept to the right of the drill bit.

I need to ensure my piece is properly secured with a vise, clamp, or my hands before drilling.

If using a keyed chuck, I should leave the chuck key in the chuck while using the machine.

I should use a scratch awl or center punch to mark the center of a hole before drilling.
