Questions I want to bring to my pod this week about IQ testing:

Has anyone ever taken an IQ test? If so How did it affect you? Was it in relation to school?
Things I found surprising
The Larry P ruling is withstanding today; State of CA cannot give black students IQ testing in order to place in EMR classes.
Segregated schooling continued 40+yrs after IQ test were found to be racially and culturally bias against Mexican America students
Darrel Lester has no idea that his case helped change the IQ testing for black kids in California
The idea that "Dangerous Ideas" can exist and lead to dangerous actions. i.e. the Holocaust
All of the above
Continually on the lookout for "WHY" a student may be underperforming
Understanding how IQ testing is no fixed
Being aware of language or cultural barrier that may be presenting as underperforming
