Why are you having your dinner party? List some possible reasons. What are you celebrating?

Where is your dinner party being held? List some possible locations for your party.

When is your dinner party being held? List some possible dates and times for your party.

Make a list of all possible guests you would want to have at your dinner party, either from the past or present.

Now select 4 of your favorite guests.

List your four guests, what each one would want to talk about, and list at least two character traits for each guest.

Using your brainstorming work, begin your rough draft. Remember to:

1. Include why, where, and when

2. Include yourself as a character along with 4 other guests.

3. Include several pieces of dialogue from each guest

4. Use correct punctuation for dialogue

5. Check your spelling and capitalization

Go back to your rough draft and replace the word "said" with a different word. Show these changes in the color red.

Go back in your rough draft and make sure you punctuated dialogue correctly. Turn all quotation marks yellow. Turn commas separating the speaker tag from dialogue blue. Turn the capital letter in the dialogue purple. Turn the speaker tag green.
