You are expected to analyze how the author’s purpose has a specific effect on readers. An author writes for diverse reasons. If the purpose is to entertain, the author will probably choose to write a narrative story. However, to convince a reader to believe an idea, the author will likely use an argumentative writing style.
When you analyze text structure, you are expected to determine how an author organizes ideas in a text to accomplish a specific purpose. For example, in an article that deals with a new piece of technology, the author may use a structure that provides a definition of the tool but also organizes the information by explaining the advantages or possible disadvantages to using the new technology. By doing this, the author may want the readers to understand how certain aspects of the invention can be considered positive or negative for its users.
A cause–effect text structure connects events that happen (effects) with why they happen (causes).

Why Camels?
In many places, library books are delivered by car or truck. However, camels are especially useful in desert regions like Garissa. The landscape is so rough that many vehicles have trouble getting there.

Local residents are used to seeing products such as food and medicine arrive by camel. "The local people identify so much with the camel," says Rashid Farah, "and therefore, we feel that if they see the camel transporting books, they'll come and use the services."
