Before you read, look at the questions. Highlight the sentences and paragraphs each question asks you to revise. Use the note tool to remind yourself what you will need to look for in each sentence.
Remember, when you read to revise, you are looking for ways to make the ideas in the text better. Ask yourself these questions:
Is the author's message clear?
Do the sentences make sense?
Are the ideas organized?
Are there enough details to support the main ideas?
Are the words vivid and descriptive?
Is anything repetitive or unnecessary?
During the first read on STAAR, when you get to a highlighted sentence, try to fix it without looking at the answer choices.
