On summer nights when soft winds sigh,
And countless stars caress the sky,
I leave my window open wide
And listen to the world outside:
The crooning crickets, lowing cows,
The creaking of the cedar boughs,
The croaking frogs, the whippoorwills,
Coyotes yipping in the hills.
Their voices linger on the breeze,
Familiar sounds that soothe and ease.
On summer nights, I close my eyes,
Immersed in nature’s lullabies.
