Breathing Underwater Exploration
In this Exploration you will see pictures with various air temperatures and observe their effects on the water temperature, dissolved oxygen, and fish in a pond. Dissolved Oxygen is the amount of gaseous oxygen(O2) dissolved in the water. Oxygen enters the water by direct absorption from the atmosphere, by rapid movement, or as a waste product of plant photosynthesis.
For each set of pictures below answer the questions about those pictures.
1

Where is the warmer water located, at the top or at the bottom?

1

Where is most of the dissolved oxygen located, at the top or at the bottom of the water?
