Page 3: To understand how long a beluga whale is, I need to make a picture in my head of a car. Now that I have that picture in my head, it’s easier for me to understand that, a beluga must be a really big animal if it is longer than a car!

Page 4: I see a diagram of six cars lined up to help us understand how long a blue whale is. But, to really understand what that means, I need to visualize six cars lined up in a place I know. I’m thinking of the school parking lot. Wow!

Page 5: When I read this page, I make a picture in my mind of a map of the United States. I think of New York on the far eastern side and California on the far western side. I’ve heard it can take more than 40 hours to drive from New York to California, so it is a very far distance. Now I picture that trip, but the trip around the moon is twice that amount!
