do you have any idea why there isn't a biome with an average low temperature at 0°C and a high amount precipitation?
From here on is the 8th grade work - watch this video on the concept of an ecological niche
do you have any questions?
Whenever niches overlap there is
Tropical rainforests have a high level of biodiversity. That means that there are a lot more animals and plants living in the rainforest than any other biome. 12% of the earth's land is tropical rainforest and they house over 50% of the worlds animal and plant species. Which that many different types of animals, what would happen to the niches of all those different animals?>
Rainforest animals tend to be highly specialized. This means that their niche - what they eat, where they live, where they hunt, etc, is very small and very specific. try to explain why this is an adaptation. how does this adaptation help them survive?
do you think you could explain the concept of a niche in class on tuesday?
what biome would you expect to find with average temperatures of 20°C and average rainfall of 300 cm per year?
Each of you has been assigned a partner and a biome as part of the quest. find a video about your biome and watch it. write here where you found your video, who produced it, and why you think it is a respectable source that you can trust.
