Task 3: Find and Analyze the Questions

Read the text and complete the tasks below.

"Tom is a student. He asks his teacher, 'What is the homework? Do we need to write it in our books? Is the test tomorrow?' The teacher replies, 'Yes, the test is tomorrow. Please study page 25. Where are your notes from class? Did you forget them at home?' Tom answers, 'No, I didn’t forget them. They are in my bag.'"

Tasks:

1. Underline all the questions in the text.

2. Write down which questions are Yes/No questions and which are Wh- questions.

3. Answer the following questions based on the text: What is the test about? Did Tom forget his notes? Where does Tom keep his notes?

Task 1: Yes or No Game

Work in pairs. Take turns asking Yes/No questions about your favorite things. For example:

• Do you like ice cream?

• Is your favorite color blue?

Task 2: Ask Wh- Questions

Use these prompts to ask your partner.

Task 3: Role Play

Imagine one student is a tourist and the other is a guide. The guide answers the tourist’s questions. Example:

Task 1: Write Yes/No Questions

Write 5 Yes/No questions using these topics:

Task 2: Write Wh- Questions

Write 5 Wh- questions about your best friend. Use these question words:

Task 3: Create a Dialogue

Write a short dialogue (5-6 lines) between two friends. Include at least 2 Yes/No questions and 2 Wh- questions.
