Read Valuable Comic Books. Choose the correct answers on the right.

The Comic Book

Which comic book do you like to read? Have you got a favourite one? Are

you more a Disney type or are you into superheroes? Did you know it

pays off to hold on to your comics?

A few weeks ago on eBay somebody paid $3.2 million for the first issue

of Action Comics featuring Superman. This makes this comic book the

most valuable comic book of all time. Before, another copy of the Action

Comics No.1 issue, was the most valuable one. That one had sold for

more than $2.1 million in 2011.

Harshen Patel works for the CGC, an organisation that keeps track of

which prices comic books are sold for in the USA. He explains that

along with baseball cards, comic books are collected all over the world.

Collectable comic books have to be in mint condition though. This

means the comic book hasn’t been read or hasn’t been read much. The

most expensive comics are the stories on the superheroes first

adventures. The first adventures of these superheroes happened back

in the 1930s up to the 1950s. Think of Spiderman, Superman, the Hulk

and Captain America that feature these comic books.
