  1. Add labeled arrows to the diagram above to show how both energy and matter cycle in the bowl between the light source, fish, and live plant in order to work together in the system to keep the fish alive.
NOTE: Fish take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide just like humans do. However, they use gills instead of lungs and the CO2 and O2 are dissolved in the water instead of being gasses in the air.

  • Sink (user) oxygen
Scenario
Congratulations! You are hired! Your main task will be to assist the customers who come in for help with problems in their tank. On your first day, a customer comes in for a free water test. Their water test results show a lack of oxygen.
  1. Below, you will see three possible solutions you can give to the customer. Choose at least one solution that you would offer to the customer. On the next page, identify the solution you chose and support your choice by describing why the oxygen is low and how the solution addresses it.

Scenario
A few days later, the CEO of a big business comes in complaining that she can’t see the fish in her enclosed indoor fishpond (like a giant snow globe). She explains that she created an indoor pond with Koi fish to watch them swim. The pond of water is covered with a large glass dome with a fake mountain on one side. On top of the mountain is a large light that heats the water inside. Drops of water keep forming on the inside of the glass and rolling down its sides blocking her view.

Now use the model that you just constructed to explain why the water droplets are forming on the glass and blocking her view. Your explanation should include at least two locations of the water and at least two processes of the water cycle.
