Passage 1: The Lemonade Stand

Ella and her cousins wanted to raise money to buy toys for the animal shelter. They decided to open a lemonade stand outside their grandmother’s house.
At first, things were slow. But when they made a bright sign and told neighbors why they were raising money, more people stopped by.
By the end of the weekend, they had made over $100. Ella smiled as she dropped the envelope into the donation box. “We did it together!”

Passage 2: The Missing Library Books

Mr. Lopez, the school librarian, announced that ten books had been missing for months.
“I wish we could help,” Ana whispered to her best friend, Miles.
That afternoon, the two made posters and hung them in the hallways. “Help the library—please return lost books!” the signs read.
Within a week, eight books were returned. Mr. Lopez smiled. “Looks like students are paying attention.”
Ana and Miles high-fived. “Teamwork works,” Ana said.
