Energy and Force on the Field
Some students investigated energy and force for three types of balls. The students used a tennis ball, a baseball, and a soccer ball. The table below shows the mass of the three balls.

In Investigation 2, the students tried to hit each golf ball with the same amount of force. Their results show they did not succeed. Using the locations of the three golf balls, circle the golf ball that had the mostenergy transferred from the plastic golf club to the ball.
One student observed that the tennis ball and baseball looked similar in size. However, the tennis ball and baseball traveled different distances when hit with a plastic golf club. The drawing compares the size of a tennis ball and the size of a baseball.

Which claim best explains why the balls traveled different distances despite being similar in size?
The data from Investigation 2 are shown in the table below.

Using the data, make a claim about the force applied to the golf balls and the distances they
traveled.
