The video you just watched discussed how an action potential works. Review the image below showing two neurons. As you can see, the action potential travels down the axon of a neuron, but does not jump from one neuron to the next. In order for a signal to get from one neuron to the next, that signal must be sent across a synapse. At a synapse, the axon terminal of one neuron sends signals to the dendrites of the next neuron.
We're only going to watch a portion of this next video that briefly discusses synaptic signaling.
