The pictures shows a flask full of water with a pump at the top. The flask has holes in the bottom.

Imagine the plunger was pushed down. Complete the sentence below by selecting the correct words.

The water comes out of from each hole.

Using the data from the diagram of the divers, what is the water pressure at a depth of 7.5m?

10.

Using the data from the diagram of the divers, what is the depth at which water pressure is 32,000 Pa?

Bonus: Deep diving can be very dangerous. As the diver goes deeper the weight of the water above creates a larger pressure on the diver. As the pressure outside the diver's body increases, the pressure of the compressed air they breathe in also increases and more is absorbed into the body. This can cause decompression sickness when they ascend.

Find out what decompression sickness is.

Bonus: Use what you've learnt about pressure of fluids, and explain what happened to the Titan (which imploded June 18, 2023).
