“Shhhh!” Mrs. Anderson loudly shushed the crowd, standing on a chair so that everyone could see her. “Jimmy is going to be here in one minute. Everyone hide!”

   I ducked behind the couch with my friend Molly. The cake was on a table right beside us, and Molly feigned taking a big bite. We stifled giggles as Mrs. Anderson turned off the music and the lights.

   Through the pitch black, we heard footsteps coming up the front walk. The door opened, letting in a blast of frigid air, and I could make out a shadow in the foyer as I peeked around the corner of the couch.

   “Mom?” Jimmy called. In response, Mrs. Anderson flipped on the lights and signaled us all to jump out.

  “Surprise!” we shouted gleefully.

Oreos are one of the tastiest and most popular snack foods on the market. These sandwich cookies have been around for over 100 years, having been invented in 1912. The original Oreos are chocolate cookies with white cream in the middle, but variations have been introduced over time. These different flavors include holiday-themed Oreos, mint, and birthday cake. The best way to eat an Oreo cookie is up for debate. Some people eat the entire cookie at once, while others twist the cookies apart and eat the cream out of the center. The best way to enjoy an Oreo, though, is to dunk it in milk until it is slightly soggy before eating it. Oreos are also the perfect topping to sprinkle over vanilla ice cream!
