Growing a Pumpkin

How do pumpkins grow? All pumpkins grow from seeds. You can get the seeds from a store, or from inside a pumpkin. Some pumpkins are big. Some are tiny. They all have seeds inside.

In the spring, it is time to plant pumpkin seeds. First, dig some holes in the garden. Next, put a seed in each hole and cover them with dirt. They will need water and sun to grow. Then, the sprout, or a small plant, grows. It will grow into a vine. A vine is a long, green stem that grows on the ground. Next, flowers grow on the vine. They will turn into pumpkins!

In the fall, the pumpkins get bigger and bigger and bigger! Finally, the pumpkin is ready to be picked! Now you kno whow to grow a pumpkin.
