A Healthy Change in Daniel’s Life (Extended B1 Story)

Daniel was not a very healthy boy last year. He often felt tired, he couldn’t wake up in the morning, and he could not concentrate at school. His teachers noticed that he sometimes fell asleep during lessons. At home, he spent many hours playing video games, and he could eat fast food every day without thinking about his health. His parents worried about him, but Daniel didn’t take their words seriously.

One day, after a long week of headaches and low energy, Daniel visited a doctor. The doctor told him that he must change his lifestyle immediately if he wants to feel better. He explained that Daniel has to follow simple health rules: sleep well, eat healthy food, and do physical activities. Daniel was surprised, but he understood that he couldn’t continue living like before.

The next morning, Daniel woke up earlier than usual. He must eat a healthy breakfast now, so he started with oatmeal, fruit, and tea instead of chips or chocolate. He also has to walk to school every day because the doctor said walking is a good and easy way to stay active. At first it was difficult, but after a week he felt more energetic.

At school, Daniel’s routine also changed. He can drink water during lessons when he feels tired, and his teacher even encourages students to bring water bottles. During breaks, Daniel goes outside to get fresh air instead of sitting in the classroom. He also joined a school sports club, where he can play basketball with his friends twice a week.

Sometimes Daniel thinks about his old habits. Last year he could play video games until midnight and eat junk food whenever he wanted. Now he realizes how unhealthy that was. He knows he must not return to those habits if he wants to stay strong and happy. His parents say he looks more cheerful now, and even his teachers noticed that he listens better and participates more in class.

Daniel also has future goals. He thinks he could try swimming or running in the summer. He wants to become a healthier and more responsible person. He understands that living a healthy life is not about big changes — you just have to follow simple rules every day and make better choices.

Now Daniel feels proud of himself. He has more energy, he sleeps better, and he can study more effectively. He believes that anyone can improve their life if they really want to. You only must take the first step.
