Reading
Emma, Daniel, and Chloe have been friends since high school, but they couldn’t be more different.
Emma loves big cities. For her, New York is more exciting than any other place she’s ever visited. She enjoys the energy, the lights, and the endless opportunities. She believes that city life is faster and busier, but also more inspiring.
Daniel, on the other hand, prefers peace and quiet. He moved to a small village in the mountains last year. He says that life there is the most peaceful and the healthiest he has ever experienced. For him, fresh air and silence are more valuable than shopping malls and traffic.
Chloe is somewhere in between. She lives in a medium-sized town by the sea. She thinks it’s more comfortable than a big city but more interesting than the countryside. She spends her weekends painting or hiking, and she believes these hobbies are the best way to stay positive and creative.
Although their lifestyles are completely different, Emma, Daniel, and Chloe always find time to meet. They often laugh about how different they are — but that’s exactly what makes their friendship the most special of all.
1. peaceful — calm and quiet; without noise or stress.
2. valuable — very useful or important.
3. inspiring — making you feel motivated or full of ideas.
4. countryside — land outside cities and towns, usually with farms or nature.
5. endless — seeming to have no limit or end.
6. energy — strength and enthusiasm for doing things.
7. silence — complete quiet, without any sound.
8. comfortable — pleasant and making you feel relaxed.
9. positive — hopeful and confident about the future.
10. special — different from others in a good way; unique.
