Greg weaved his race car in and out of obstacles and sailed over ramps. His heart fluttered as he entered the final lap, the other racers lagging behind him.
Next to him on the floor, his older brother, Nate, groaned. Greg grinned when he saw on the screen that Nate’s race car had gotten pulled into a sand trap.
Finally, the finish line was in sight. Just as Greg punched the gas, something struck him from behind. He spun out of control, and Nate’s race car sped past, overtaking him for first place.
“Yes!” Nate exclaimed. “Still the champion!”
“Not again!” Greg moaned as he finished in second place. With a deep sigh he muttered, “Guess I will just have to keep practicing.”

THE IMPORTANCE OF SLEEP
Getting an adequate amount of sleep is important for your health. If you do not get enough sleep, you may notice some negative side effects. For example, sleepdeprivation affects your memory. If you have not slept enough, your brain’s ability to process or retrieve information will decrease. You may also find that your reflexes, or your automatic reactions to things that happen, become slower if you do not get enough sleep. This could impact your performance in sports or your ability to safely ride a bike without getting into an accident. Finally, failing to get enough sleep can also weaken your immune system, which fights off infections in your body. As a result, you could find that you get sick more often if you do not get enough sleep.
