Nature Photography Day — Photo Prompt Activity
Directions:
Complete all 5 prompts by taking one original photo per prompt.
For each prompt below, submit your photo using a File Response (attach/upload your image).
Your photo must be taken today or during the assigned window and should be appropriate for school.
Safety first: stay on school grounds or with permission; don’t disturb wildlife or damage plants.
Tips:
Try different angles (high/low), distances (wide/close), and lighting.
Make sure your subject is in focus and well-framed.
When you’re done, you’ll have 5 photo uploads total—one for each prompt.
Prompt 1 — Patterns or Textures in Nature
Upload 1 photo that highlights a natural pattern or texture (examples: tree bark, leaf veins, rock layers, sand ripples, moss).
Prompt 2 — Living Thing in Its Habitat
Upload 1 photo of a living thing (plant, insect, bird, etc.) showing it in its natural environment. Do not disturb it to get the shot.
Prompt 3 — Light and Shadow Outdoors
Upload 1 photo where light and shadow are the main focus (examples: silhouette, dappled light through leaves, long shadows, reflections).
Prompt 4 — Evidence of Change
Upload 1 photo that shows change happening in nature (examples: budding/withering, erosion, footprints/tracks, a fallen branch, seasonal color change).
Prompt 5 — Your Best Composition
Upload 1 photo you consider your strongest overall nature photo (best framing, focus, and subject choice).
