A new school year is here, and our classroom is ready for you. In this room, everyone matters. We will learn new things, share our thinking, and celebrate our progress. When we make a mistake, we don’t give up—we learn from it.
In third grade, we will practice good classroom habits. We will come prepared, keep our area neat, and follow directions the first time. We will raise our hands to speak and listen with our eyes and ears. We will treat classmates with respect, even if we have different ideas.
We will learn in lots of ways this year. Some days we will read stories and write about them. Other days we will solve math problems and explain how we got our answers. We might work alone, with a partner, or in a small group.
Let’s make one promise to ourselves: we will be learning helpers. Learning helpers ask questions, try again when work is tricky, and encourage others. If something feels hard, take a deep breath and ask for help. We are a classroom community, and we can do great things together.
