ATSS In-Class Timed Essay

ASSIGNMENT: You will choose one theme from A Thousand Splendid Suns and argue which TWO characters demonstrate or embody that theme thus far in the novel. You can only use Part One and Part Two. You will write a four-paragraph essay, and it will be an in-class essay!

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Indent your paragraphs by typing 5 spaces

• Leave an extra space between paragraphs

• 4 paragraphs (introduction, two body paragraphs, and conclusion)

• Academic style writing (written in 3rd person)  

• 2 pieces of evidence per body paragraph (4 total) 

  • Each piece of evidence must be introduced & cited properly

• Grammatically and mechanically correct writing 

• Each body paragraph must focus on a different character
