In this activity, you will be performing two tasks:
Identifying the type of reaction (combination, decomposition, combustion, single-replacement, or double-replacement).
Balancing the reactions.
Abbreviated reaction types have been provided to help you identify the reaction types.
To balance the equations, you first must determine if each of these reactions is balanced; if not, then you must balance them.
Use your notes to help you balance the equations.
When balancing the equations, there are times only you will not need to increase the atoms in a given molecule; for these cases, place a hyphen (-) in the blank (this is only to make formative 'happy' as it will not permit an unused blank).
