This is a participation grade - do it and get points. The quiz will be very much like this.
There are some questions on this review that are considered "test questions." While they are part of the concepts, they were barely mentioned and likely will not be on the quiz. I just want to see how we do on them.
Use the equations and examples below, as well as the calculator, to help you with all calculations you have to solve.
On the quiz, the equations will be provided, but not the examples.
Equations and Examples:
Example:
A car's velocity changes from 15 m/s to 25 m/s in 5 seconds.
Net Force - unopposing forces
Net Force (sum of forces) = F1 + F2…etc.
Net Force - opposing forces
Net Force = Greater Force - Lesser Force
Examples:
If a 10 N force is applied to the right and a 4 N force is applied to the left, the net force is:
Net Force = 10 N Right - 4 N Left = 6 N Right
If a 10 N force is applied to the right and 4 N force is also applied to the right, the net force is:
Net Force = 10 N Right + 4 N Right = 14 N Right
Force - when acceleration and mass are known.
Force = mass x acceleration
Example:
If an object has a mass of 5 kg and an acceleration of 3 m/sec², the force can be calculated as follows:
