Cell Structure and Function Identification
1
Use your Cell Structure and Function Note-Taking Sheet to help you will this activity.

First, complete the Cell Structure Game and follow the instructions provided for it. It will help prepare you for the rest of this activity.

Note: there will be a quiz next week that will require you to identify structures of plant, animal, and bacterial cells and also to identify their function; this is what this activity covers. In other words, this will help prepare you for the quiz.

Cell Structure Game

In each part of this game, you will identify each structure until you earn 20 points. Pay attention to the basic shape and appearance of each structure as you play the game.

Follow these steps, doing so will make the questions, after this game, easier (notice that it doesn't say "easy" - they will be more doable).
  1. Click to Start
  2. "Basic Organelle ID" at the bottom of the game menu.
  3. "Animal Cell (ID by Name)" at the top-left of the game menu.
  4. "Animal Cell (ID by Function)" at the middle-left of the game menu.
  5. "Plant Cell (ID by Name)" at the top-right of the game menu.
  6. "Plant Cell (ID by Function)" at the middle-right of the game menu.
Feel free to repeat this process a many times as is necessary until you are somewhat comfortable identifying these cell structures.
