How to Balance Chemical Equations:
Count the number of each atom in the reactants and the products.
Pay attention to subscripts when counting.
Balance each atom one at a time by placing coefficients in front of compounds or individual elements.
No coeffient for 1 is used; never change subscripts.
Ensure that all coeffients are in the lowest possible ratio - reduce them to the lowest ratio, if necessary.
