Find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100 (e.g., 30% of a quantity means 30/100 times the quantity); solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent.

Students are asked to find the percent given the part and whole. Students will compare two percents in the context of shooting Free Throws.

Sue Bird and LeBron James decide to have a Free Throw shooting contest. They each shoot Free Throws for a certain amount of time. Sue Bird makes 17 out of 20 shots and Lebron James makes 21 out of 25 shots. Even though LeBron made MORE shots, did Sue make a HIGHER PERCENT? Find the percent for both Sue Bird and LeBron James.
