Let's take a look at irony in your ad. Many ads, especially the funny ones, use irony to make their points. If your ad makes you laugh, some part of it is probably ironic.

Since it's likely that your ad uses some form of irony, think carefully before you decide to skip this section. Ask for help if you aren't sure.

Ready to come up with ideas?

Brainstorm a list of the examples of irony in your ad.
Don't worry about complete sentences; just get your thoughts down. Aim for several examples on your list. You need two for your paper.

Here's Mrs. D's list for her ad:
--I see only situational irony.
--the song is ironic because it's a love song that discusses "guts" and messy hair. (?)
--also the song is called "sing to me" and the ad is non-verbal
--we expect a busy city and get the two lovers entirely alone
--we don't expect a rainy street to be romantic
