Put your love of animals into action
All over Britain, numerous animal shelters look for animal-loving volunteers. Robert Benmore of Blue Cross UK: “We mainly need people who can spend individual time with our cats. Each cat has its own personality and desperately needs some special human contact. Volunteers can help the cats adjust to their new lives and calm them down before they find new homes. Volunteers can also help to match up potential owners with the cats who are best suited to them. So, they should also have the ability to get on well with people. When asked what type of person the animal shelters need for this important work, Benmore says: “We need people who are reliable, calm and patient. Availability during weekends is a prerequisite.”
