Note from the author:
These activities are highly structured and scaffolded to support student understanding of conditions and the application of the Hardy-Weinberg theorem.
Currently, between this and Pear Practice, students are
* comparing and contrasting natural selection and evolution
* comparing and contrasting HWE conditions vs non-HWE conditions
* connecting the conditions of HWE to the mechanisms of evolution
* applying the concept of the Punnett square to HWE
* practicing calculations with a visual calculator accompanying their work
Eventually, I intend to have material of this quality that more clearly helps students distinguish between HWE and non-HWE populations via the formula.
There are numerous hints and questions are layered to support follow-up questions.
